You say,
“Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life” (John 4:13-14).
That’s the kind of water I long for, Father.
I long to dwell in your presence.
I long to have in an intimate relationship with you.
I long to be your worthy and undoubtedly faithful servant.
You told me I have great faith.
Because of my great faith I will experience your great love.
Great faith is what fuels my great thirst.
I thirst for more of you,
Your presence,
Your words,
Your love,
Your comfort,
All of who you are.
In the past I didn’t thirst for your eternal water.
I didn’t thirst at all because I thought I had all that I needed.
I thought I could fulfill myself
But once I tasted your sweet love, mercy, and grace there was no turning back.
Now whatever I taste, it never measures up to your living water.
The waters around me are temporary, not eternal
But you, O Lord, quench every thirst of mine.
You provide a stream in my heart to fulfill me.
I no longer desire things of this world.
I long for you Father.
When I don’t feel, see, or hear you, I beg of you to create an overflow in my heart
To diminish my thirst.
I long for our relationship more than anything in this world.
When all else fails, people disappoint, and memories fade
I hope my soul is forever filled to the brim with your eternal love.
I want to be able to seek you with all I have
And when I have nothing left I come to your cross in search of your living water.
I didn’t know I searched for this kind of love.
This whole time I searched high and low in every place for something so grand.
Instead, all the world gave me was bitterness.
It tricked me into depending on their bitter water.
It wasn’t fulfilling at all.
It was a fluke.
A good one for that matter.
It was a mirage that I got tricked into.
I depended on it because I didn’t know any better.
But then I found you.
I found your living water.
Your living water opened my eyes and repaired my soul.
Your living water renewed me from the inside out.
After I tasted, I saw.
I saw your goodness, who you are, your ways, and your heart.
The more I tasted your eternal goodness the more I fell in love with you.
When I tasted, I believed that you will quench my every thirst.
I believe that you are the Messiah, Son of the living God.
I believe in all you have done in the days of my ancestors,
All you will continue to do in this age,
And all you will do in generations to come.
I believe that you are good and you are who you say you are:
The I am,
Yahweh,
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel.
I believe that your living water is living inside of me
Creating an overflow that floods the hearts of those around me.
I believe that your living water is everlasting and doesn’t cease.
I believe that one drop of your living water can move mountains.
I believe in the power of your living water.
I believe in you
The truth that you are my deliver, my one and only, my husband, and my God.
I believe that you made me to dwell in fellowship with you.
I believe that our relationship is special and no words between us are said in vain.
I believe that wrestling with you concludes in knowledge of your goodness, grace, and mercy.
I believe that you love me so much that you sent your son to die for me
The worst and most painful death of all time.
I believe that you are my deliver
A just judge even when everything crashes over my head.
I believe that hard times are not done by your hand,
But of the hand of the evil one.
When hard times came I believed in you because you are all I ever have,
All I can ever want,
The only thing Satan can’t take away from me.
O Lord, if Satan takes everything from me I pray that he doesn’t take you away from me.
Your presence is so divine.
I’m so undeserving of your love.
You tender heart is so gracious in forgiving all my sins.
If everything fails let it not be my love for you.
Lord overflow me to the point where I never have to doubt you.
Overflow me to the point where I never have to thirst for anything or anyone but you.
Overflow me with your love.
O Lord, all I do is thirst for you.
Without your living water I cannot sleep, eat, think, or discern as I should.
I make brash decisions without blinking or having a second thought.
I run rampant in my mind.
The dryness of my soul starts to crack at the loss of your living water.
Never hold back your precious living water.
Never hold your presence, love, character, grace, or mercy away from me.
Instead bust down the door of my heart like a raging wave
Crash over me, recklessly.
Lord, I seek your living water all the days of my life.
Answer my request Lord!
Keep your promises to me.
For only you know my heart because you were the one who knit me in my mother’s womb.
Search my heart and know me.
See if my heart is pure and always redirect it towards you.
Search me and teach me your ways.
I long to know your paths and understand you like you fully understand me.
I long to call you mine and you to call me yours
To stand confidently in who you are and know that you are with me.
As days go by, my love for you gets stronger.
Father, my prayers get deeper.
And our time that we spend together gets longer.
I want to be in constant unity with you
A unity so strong that it is unbreakable.
Lord, I long to be so close to you that I’m able to love with a pure heart,
With no expectations,
No strings attached,
And not reluctantly.
I long to love your people because I love you.
I want to know you with every part of my being.
Lord, help me know you more than I already do!
O Father, I long to see all the nations thirst for your living water and seek you wholeheartedly.
I long to see the day where all nations are on their knees at your throne room
Embracing the living water you gave us freely.
Lord I thirst.
Lord I come with my needs.
I’m open and vulnerable.
I was once a sinner, but now I am a servant.
So Father, please if you will give me one drop of you
One drop of your good salvation.
The kind of living water that is eternal and everlasting.
Lord, quench my thirst and dwell with me in every moment.
Listen to my outcry Father.
Let this living water I long for continue to grow my love for you and enhance our relationship.
O Lord, I long for this living water that is revives our love.
I thirst for your living water that reconnects me to you.
I thirst for your living water that creates an unbreakable intimacy with you.
So Lord, when you say you will give me this living water,
I will rejoice in gladness of your invitation.
Because this living water isn’t just your salvation,
Your character,
Your love,
Your forgiveness,
Your grace,
And your mercy,
But it’s also an invitation to an eternal intimacy with you.
I thirst for this living water and this everlasting intimacy with you all the days of my life.
