Amy Lynn

She loved me before she knew me. She remembered the things I told her about my family and the things I liked. She challenged me and inspired me to follow my passions and dreams. She supported me as I made decisions as a leader and stepped into vulnerability.

She loves me like a sister and points me to Jesus every day.

One day in the Dominican Republic, I was faced with my first hurdle as a team leader. Announcing next months ministry assignments. We had a time of worship and prayer as a squad three times a day in the DR and I planned to give the announcement to my team after evening worship. A war was happening inside of my mind. I was battling insecurities, fears about the month to come, my identity in Christ, and even second-guessing my role as a leader. A few minutes later, I felt someone come sit beside me and put their head on my shoulder.

Living with Amy the last four months has been the greatest blessing. She has taught me how to encourage others to pursue their strengths and give everything to the Lord. She has been a rock on our team, always there to listen, love, and support us.

Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is on Me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners.”

While praying over Amy, the Lord put this verse on my heart. It is so cool to see how the Lord fulfilled all of these promises through her during our time on a team together. She has brought the good news of the gospel to everyone she meets, she is anointed, she has used scripture to encourage others and heal brokenness, and she proclaims freedom wherever she goes. Amy has taught me so much about boldness and speaking truth with authority. She has loved me when I felt unloveable and always intentional to ask how I’m doing. She is an incredible friend and I am beyond blessed to have lived with her the last four months.
