Hey Everyone!
This week has gone really great! This past Sunday I went to a church here in Thailand where they speak in both Thai and English. Worship was so cool because half of each song we sang was in English and the other half was in Thai. It was very eye opening to see people who couldn’t speak the same language come together to praise God. The pastor’s sermon was a continuation of a series about taking care of your soul and what that looks like. He taught about how each of us needs to nurture our souls by staying in the Word and keep pressing into the Lord. When we do this sin starts to become unattractive to us and we strive to live a life more pleasing to the Lord. For me, that really hit home because I can see in my own life when I stop spending time with God, sin creeps back into my life and I start becoming distant from Him. But God is so forgiving and merciful and when I realize I need to turn around and get back on the right path, He is always right there waiting for me. I am so thankful for my leaders on the race that challenge us to spend time with the Lord by having us do our devotions as a squad, but on our own. This really helps me stay accountable and continue staying on the right path.
Anyway, ministry this week has been good! Tiring, but good! We finished sanding and painting the tables for the children so they no longer have to eat on nasty, moldy tables. Praise the Lord! Now we are moving onto the playground. We sanded down the equipment to get rid of all the old paint that was chipping off as well as some of the rust, and now we are in the process of painting the equipment. Sanding and painting playground equipment isn’t the most fun thing in the world to do, but it is something the children needed and that makes it all worth it. My team and I also get the chance to talk and get to know one another on a deeper level as we work and I am so excited to continue to grow deeper with. So that is just a quick update on what is going on here in Thailand.
Please continue praying for these children that they will experience the love of Christ and choose to live a life following Him. Thank you so much for your constant prayers and thoughts!
