**This post and interview were done 2 months ago, but I have been busy posting other content. I decided that teammate interviews are still something that I want to do, but they are just starting a little later than I had first planned!!

Each month, I am going to interview one of my teammates as a blog post. This is a way for y’all to get to know the people that I spend all of my time with, a bit deeper than our meet my teammates post. The first person that I am going to interview is…. Ashley!!

Why did you decide to come on the Race?

I decided to come on the Race because I have always been passionate about travel and mission work. God was able to use those passions that He has given me to lead me to the Race. So I listened and obeyed and followed and here I am!

What is the biggest thing that the Lord has taught you?

The biggest thing that the Lord has taught me is that my relationship with him is a 2-way street. He will always chase after me, but it also requires me seeking Him. I don’t want to say just as much, because that is pretty much impossible for me to be at the same level as God. He always chases after me, because He is our Good Shepherd, but then it also requires me putting in on my end and seeking Him. It takes work.

What country are you most looking forward to? Why?

I am most looking forward to India because I went there last September with my church, and it is the trip that made me fully commit and decide to going on the Race. I had been thinking about the Race a little before India, but India was the final stepping stone that pushed me to go. I really love it and I love the people and the children and the culture.

In what ways do you hope to grow as a person over the next 6 months?

I hope to learn how to distinguish God’s presence and voice more easily. To be aware of when it’s Him. Which relates to me seeking Him more, just to be able to feel His presence more.
