Hey, Y’all!

My name is Cara. I am 19 years old and am a sophomore at Baylor University (Sic’Em bears)! Over the past few months, I have felt the Lord calling me to missions abroad. So… I have decided to take a Gap Year and go on the World Race this upcoming September! My team and I will be traveling to three different countries, on three different continents for nine months total. I am so excited to start this crazy journey and see where the Lord takes me.

Growing up, I lived in the same city from the time I was born until I left for college. The city of Grapevine, Texas nestled in-between the huge metroplex of Dallas and Fort Worth is one of my favorite places in the world, as it holds so many sweet memories. The people there, both family and friends, all played a significant role in shaping me into who I am today. A huge portion of those friends came from my youth group at church, who over the years became my second family. From 19-hour bus rides to long day’s working in the sun, the Lord began to shape his work in me through various camps and missions trips with my church family. Throughout high school, I worked at my home church and participated in many stateside mission trips. However, I have never been on a mission trip overseas, so I am so excited to see the Lord work not only where I have grown up but all over the world.

My time at Baylor has been incredible and such a growing experience. I am a business major with a religion minor, currently pursuing a degree in marketing. Through my gap year, I hope to gain a greater world perspective and then return to Baylor to finish my bachelor’s degree in business. One day I hope to use the practical applications of business skills in the mission field to create opportunities to form relationships and open pathways to spread the gospel to the unreached people groups of the world.

On my World Race, I cannot wait to see how the Lord is going to work and reveal himself. I will be updating my blog throughout the fundraising process and after launch, and would love to invite you to join me on this journey!

Lastly, here’s 5 fun facts about me:
