Camp! We help with the camp run by the church we live next to. I’m a leader in the 10 year old group with a boy name Constantine (who was baptized just two Sundays ago!!) and a girl named Eliza and we have about 7-9 children in our group. Constantine asked me to teach the lesson yesterday about Adam and Eve and handed me the Ukranian lesson plan the night before.
My friend Dana, who speaks both Ukranian and English offered to help me understand what it said. I had a good grasp on the overarching themes, went to bed and the next morning- this video of a snapshot of what that process looked like.
Dana graciously offered to translate for me while I taught our little 10 year olds. I love love love them and love how the Lord is working in their lives.
Love you and Jesus loves you more,

Prayer Requests:?For the children to walk away from camp here at the church with more than just “oh wow that was fun and Americans are goofy” but an understanding of the Gospel, a deeper awareness of the Lord and for a transformed heart. I love them so much and I am excited for what the Lord is doing.
As we make friends with our fellow Christians here in the Ukraine- pray that the Lord uses us to love them well. Currently brainstorming how to creatively extend the Father’s love their way in a meaningful way in even more ways.
For more laborers to be sent.
“So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields” Matthew 9:38
Praises:
Camp is incredible. It’s different than a typical VBS you might find in the States but wow am I incredible honored to serve alongside my team who so flexibly adapts to whatever we’re asked to do. Sometimes that looks like teaching English with bananagrams during free time or teaching a lesson on Adam and Eve with a translator or playing rock paper scissors with the kids on the side lines to extend the inclusivitity of the Father- that they belong here and are loved and pursued even if they’re not playing the game.
Had an incredible time of fellowship with the boys who live upstairs of the house we live in next to the church. When we first arrived they appeared to be shy and intimidated by the language barrier. Last night, during a game of spoons (a card game) spurred on by my teammate Betzaida which morphed into a similar game with matches in our mouth we got to connect with them and laugh real hard and enjoy the joy the Lord has given us.
Broadly, praise the Lord for the fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ, They’ve so welcomed and loved us. As we seek to serve them, uplift them and encourage them the Lord has done likewise for us through them. We compliment each other. The Lord has wired us for different things and we’re able to support each other and point each other to the Lord and it’s SO. STINKIN’. COOL.
