If I were home right now, I would be making you breakfast in bed. Piping hot Waffles with fruit on the big blue plate and orange juice in the fancy glass we always use for special occasions. I would give you a kiss on the cheek as I handed you a handmade card made out of green paper (it’s your favorite color of course). The card would read:

Dear mom,

I honestly don’t know why God gave me the honor of being your daughter. You are the most amazing woman on this earth and somehow, God allowed me to be blessed with you as my mom. You have shown me love that no other person in this world could compete with. You have prayed for me since the moment you knew I exsited in your belly and it is because of you that I am who I am today.

Mom, you have taught me so much these past 21 years. How to cook, how to love, how to control my emotions, and most importantly, how to pray. You are my role model in life and if I can be half the woman you are when I grow up, than I will be truly blessed. You are absolutely stunning inside and out, a true skinny minny. You radiate kindness and people are drawn to the light that shines bright within you.

Thank you for being such an amazing mom and for sticking with me through every battle. Happy Mother’s Day!                                                             – Brooklynn

After you read the card, you would cry a little bit and give me one of your award winnng hugs that I pretend to hate but truly love. Josh and I would fight over whose card was best or made you cry harder (of course mine would win).

We then would go to church as a family like every other Sunday and you would sit in between Joshua and I so you could be close to both your kids.

After the service, we would have a fancy dinner and do whatever it is you feel like doing today. Probably something with flowers or a walk along the beach. I would let you be clinging all day and it would be perfect.

Mom, I hope that this day will come true in just a few short months. I know it will be hard not having either of us there this year, but we will be thinking of you all day and missing you more than words can describe. You are loved beyond meausre momma!

Happy Mother’s Day!

I love you more,
Brooklynn
