“There is no limit to what God can do through you, provided you do not seek your own glory.”

-L.B. Cowman

I walked into training camp sitting in a place of complacency. God has moved mountains in my life this past year and I couldn’t help but feel like, “yes there’s probably still a lot of work to be done within my soul but surely it won’t turn up now because I’ve grown so much!” Well, I was mistaken.

I asked God at the start of camp to show me where I could grow. The Lord revealed to me many nitty gritty details in my life that I was blind to. I had been held captive within my mind in this place of shame and self-destruction—I struggle often with not feeling like I deserve His grace. If only I could do this perfectly, accomplish this, gain this wisdom or insight, get rid of this sin in my life, THEN He will love me and invite me to His table. THEN I will really be a good Christian and He’ll be proud to call me His daughter. But that’s all nonsense that the devil tries to plague us with! God loves us where we are at NOW. Of course He calls us higher and wants us to grow, but He is here for us in the depths of our crap and grace requires nothing of us. Someone said something wildly profound during worship one night that shook me and it really relates to this, “it is not done but it is finished.” Wow. Literally all the Jesus tingles (it’s a thing).

God gave me a vision during camp of His son taking blood and painting it across my body. Jesus died and my sin is covered. I am good enough for Him and I’m worthy to be used to spread His kingdom if only I will have an open heart to serve and obey Him—to choose His will over my own and to allow Him to uncover the hard things in my soul. The Lord wants to work in us so that we can proclaim His good news to others. “Look what the Lord did in my life!” He wants us to say. He is the savior! If we would only be so bold to continue asking of Him, what is a roadblock in my life that’s keeping me from you? Where can I grow? In this He will answer and He will use us as His sons and daughters to proclaim His glory to all. Let us not sit in a place of complacency but be willing and ready for the Lord to call us deeper.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Matthew 7:7-8

P.S.

Y’all I’m so excited for the race. My squad is incredible and I’m thrilled to get to serve with them for 9 months. T minus 46 days (I think) before we launch?? Please continue to lift us up in your prayers as we prepare our hearts and minds for this journey the Lord is taking us on. I appreciate it. Love!
