I worked out at a gym for the first time on the race today and man let me tell you, it felt amazing!

At the beginning of the race I would say things like “I’m going to eat whatever I want because I’m only here once”. This statement lasted 7 months haha! Alright, now this statement is very true, but after working out today and thinking a bit I realized that wasn’t the best statement to be walking by. You see, I was enjoying my unhealthy foods and sweet treats, but not necessarily treating my temple right. Everyday I would feel gross & complain about it, but still eat that unhealthy treat because why not!? Don’t get me wrong, I will still continue to treat myself with a yummy snack, but will also exercise self control.

The body God gave each of us is so unique and beautiful. What a shame it would be to not treat the temple he’s given us correctly.

Here are some fun ways to get a little workout on while having fun:
– Dance party (turn on some fun jams and literally just dance. I promise you’ll get a workout in haha)
– Yoga (There’s some fun yoga on YouTube & you can turn it into a way of praising God for your bod!)
– Treadmill (I know this doesn’t sound fun lol but if you just turn music on and fast walk, it’s actually not that bad)
– Zumba (You don’t have to worry about looking stupid because everyone looks stupid haha! So fun!)
– Bible study workout (you can get a group of friends and do a little bible study/workout & also have healthy snacks to enjoy!)
– Bed workout (This one is a favorite! While you’re sitting in bed, do some leg lifts. You can also lift your head up slightly to where you’re doing a crunch and hold it to where it burns your abs!)
– Sunset Neighborhood walk (These are my favorite! At home I walk with my dad when the sun is setting. We just talk and speed walk:) You also get to see God’s beautiful painting so it’s a win win!)
I’m sure there’s a lot more but these are the ones I can think of right now!

Now that we’ve got the workout stuff out of the way, here are some of my favorite desserts and snacks I’ve been eating:
– Oreos (I’ve been obsessed on the race haha)
– Different countrys’ Ice cream (I know you’re like “ice cream all tastes the same” but I promise it’s different in every country!)
– Roti (I’m obsessed! It’s like a crepe/pancake but fried! You put some strawberries & Nutella on it & you have the most delicious treat ever!)
– Thai tea (Alrighty, I’m going to miss this one the most. It’s cheap and amazing! Can’t explain it)
– Homemade goodies (In South Africa we had our sweet cooking ladies that would bake for us and oh man we were spoiled)
– Chiky (A candy in Costa Rica that was so good)
– Bon bons (Thai candy! Crunchy/creamy goodness! Mmmmmmm)
These are also just a few of many yummy treats!

The reason I show you both of these is because there truly is a happy medium! You can take care of your body & treat yourself sometimes! We’re all so blessed with everything we have. Find your happy medium. Find what makes you feel good. Take good care of your temple whether that means you need to workout & eat healthy on Monday’s and have popcorn at the movies with your friends on Friday’s! Life really is short, so don’t waste it believing the enemy’s lies! Love others, love yourself and above all; love God:))
