Oh how on fire my African friends are for the Lord! WOW! We walked in to church and were immediately greeted by everyone. The church was filled to the brim with people excited to worship the Lord! The first thing we saw when we walked in were people dancing and singing their hearts out. After about an hour of worshipping, the pastor came up and this is what he talked about:

Psalms 115:17,18
“The dead cannot sing praises to the Lord, for they have gone into silence of the grave. But we can praise the Lord both now and forever.”

If you don’t walk everyday like a true follower of Jesus, trying to show love to everyone and striving to grow in relationship with Christ, you are dead. Therefore if you choose to walk in your sin everyday for the rest of your life, if you choose to walk in darkness, you will die someday laying in the grave with no more chances to sing praises and walk like our beautiful Creator. When you truly give your life to christ you will NOT want to walk in your old ways anymore. When you choose to die to self and and live for Jesus, your life will be changed forever.

When I truly gave my life to christ, when I learned my life is not my own but his, I wanted to walk like it. I wanted people to see there was a change! I am changed because of Jesus! It makes me sick thinking of all these people who claim to be followers but still choose flesh! If you’re reading this and this is you, why? Why do you choose to live by darkness and not by light? Jesus doesn’t promise that when we submit to him that life will be void of hardship but he does promise a life full of his truth and love in abundance. I know life is hard and so does Jesus! God didn’t say it would be easy to be his disciple; you will go through trials, you will lose friends. You will want to go back to old ways. Here’s the difference between those who walk by faith and who walk by flesh: Choice. When you’re going through a hard time it is your CHOICE to either go to God or your temptations. It is your CHOICE to surround yourself with toxic people that hinder you or godly people that lift you up. It is your CHOICE if you revert to old ways or if you choose to walk by truth and new life. In all honesty it is very simple. You can either walk in darkness or you can walk in light. I can tell you from experience it is much better to walk in light. The coolest thing about all of this is no matter where you are right now, what you have done, God died on the cross for our sins and he forgives. You can, right now wherever you are, confess to God that you were walking in sin but want to walk in truth. That you were once dead and you want to be alive! Our God wants so badly to have a relationship with you! That’s why he made you! You have the chance right now to choose. We are not promised tomorrow, time is running out. Are you going to choose light or darkness?
