I found this in my journal from a few months ago and wanted to share it…

People need to hear what we have to say. The world doesn’t need us to pick up the slack and fill in the holes from someone else not doing there part for the kingdom. Sounds super blunt but that doesn’t make it any less true. Even if you are capable of doing the job for someone else you are screwing the people who showed up to see you do what God gave you. Nobody goes to see LeBron paint a picture. No! WE go to see him be the second best basketball player to ever play the game. We go and desire to see people perform there true God given skill, the thing that makes them who they are. Honestly there is always someone who can do it better. So do that one thing that no one else can do, be your unique self! No one else is equipped to hold your burdens and triumphs. God gave you that specific body to live with, yet we tend to try and live like we are in a different body with different skills. We need to as a body of believers to perform our job and our job alone. The skills and qualities we have been blessed with are to be given away. Comparison is the thief of joy. Luckily its something we can choose to carry with us or not. Freely expressing your gift is something that pleases God. And destroying anything that gets in the way of that pleases God. Why would you pour your time and energy into doing something that doesn’t please Him. I remember reading somewhere that too often people care about what they succeed and fail in. Which is good, but…we are afraid of failing at something that really matters to us. How about we get afraid of succeeding at things that don’t matter. We have an obligation to bless our family, friends, and everyone who crossed our path with the gifts that God has given us. If we are filled with God we have the authority to walk with a little extra swag in our step. That confidence when you know you have already won the fight because its over. Death was defeated and our life now has no end. That confidence when you get a yes form your first prom date, score your first goal, or when the crowd is cheering for name because you just did your thing so well. God is up there cheering for us, watching every move we make, the times we miss and the times we succeed, He is there. God is okay with us failing, just not being a failure. You are a failure the moment you decide not to keep trying, throw in the towel before the fight has been won. So please fail, fail hard and learn from those failures. Don’t waste a single time in your life where you fall short. Learn and try again. Share what you need to share and be okay with it not coming out exactly as you want it to come out. Just be bold and fail.
