As the storytelling leader of my team one of my duties is to come up with fun blogging prompts in order to help my team meet our blog quota for the month.  Since March is International Women’s month I had the idea to put all of the women of P squad into my hat (sorry guys), and we all draw names to write about each one of them, affirm each one of them, and lift one another up as sisters in Christ.

So here are my 5 ladies of P squad who I randomly drew from the hat:

One word that I would use to describe all 5 of these awesome gals is passionate.  As all of them have a passion for not only our awesome God, but they all have an incredible servant’s heart to serve God’s people during their time here on the race.  They also have their own indivdual passion for various things not God related, and they all have such amazing gifts that they bring to not only the squad, but to their own teams as well.  All of also have such powerful testimonies as well about how God has worked in their lives, and how each one of them came to know the Lord.  All of them in some way or another is the definition of a freedom fighter, and it has been so awesome to watch this in each one of these gals.

Meagan T (aka MT): This gal is such a ball of energy!  Her smile, laugh, and overall zeal for life is just so encouraging to watch.  Meagan has just this overall joy about life, and it is just so refreshing to witness in all the times that I have been around her.  The wisdom that she carries about her is so cool, and whenever one is feeling down or discouraged and needs someone to talk to about it, Meagan one of the people to go to for advice or encouragement.  She is an awesome listener, and is so patient during the conversation, and most importantly she won’t judge you.  She is the squad storytelling leader, and has done such an amazing job in that role.  She is creative, and wants all of us to be the best blogging squad in the history of the world race.  It is an honor to be a team storytelling leader, and getting to serve along side her.

Re’: Talented especially when it comes to music, wise beyond her years, and has such a huge heart for people and for missions.  Re’ is such an excellent listener as she will sit there and listen to you without judgement, and offer advice.  Re was one of the ones that I was excited to meet at training camp as I had kinda gotten to know her a little by means of social media & skype during the early months before training camp.  Re’ loves Harry Potter, and is a proud Slythrian as well as Ravenclaw.  She has an excitement about her when she gets to share things that she is passionate about, and I have loved watching her as she co leads the squad in worship during all squad months or debriefs as she is one of the squad’s worship leaders.

Marissa (aka Riss): My #2 overall pick on the squad.  Marissa is so much fun to hangout with whenever we have the chance to be around each other.  She is loud, outgoing, and an total extrovert.  I love her sense of humor, and wit, and she is one who also gets my strange sense of humor as well. which for me is something that is important in a friendship to me.  She is an former softball catcher like me, and that is something that we bonded over.  We have some crazy stories from the first time we met before training camp as I picked her up from the ATL airport.  Marissa was someone who when I first met her, I instantly knew that we would become friends as she just gave off that vibe to me.  She is such a strong, and powerful woman of God, and she cares for all she meets like if you are feeling down, she will be there to pick you up, and make you feel better.

Schyler (aka Schy): Quiet when one first meets her, but once you get to know her then she is a whole different person!  Quirky, fun, outgoing, and has a huge heart for serving God’s people.  Lover of all dogs.  Schy is such a strong leader both on this team, and in a way on the squad as well. It is so easy to make her laugh, and she has a quirky sense of humor as well.  She loves to workout, and is so dedicated to doing so when there is the chance to workout, and that is something that I admire about her.  Not only does she have dedication to working out, but her dedication to her walk in her faith is also something that is very admireable about her.  It has been a awesome pleasure to be teammates with her on this journey.

Jillian (aka J): Where do I even begin with Jillian as there is just so much that I could say about her.  I had the honor of being her teammate for the first 4 months of the race as a member of Team Surrendered.  I have seen such tremendous growth in her over the course of those 4 months, and I sure she is still continuing to grow in her faith with her new team as well.  She is spunky, eager, bold, strong, has so much joy in her, and is always willing to grow in her walk with God.  Loves all things mini sized.  I still remember meeting her for the first time at training camp as she pulled up in the parking space next to me, and we introduced ourselves to one another, and little did I know that be start of our journey.  I love her passion for kids, and she has such patience with them as that is something that I totally admire about Jillian as I saw it in both El Salvador & Vietnam.

Overall, I am so honored to call these 5 ladies not only my friends, but my sisters in Christ.  I am so lucky that I get to run this race with all of them, and I know that my race would not be the same without them.  I am excited to see where God will take them all in their lives, and I want them to know that no matter what I will always be there to cheer for them in whatever they may pursue.

Til next time your fellow sister in Christ,

Bonnie
