These last few days here in Independence have been busy with preparing for revival & Harvest Thanksgiving along with us finishing up painting the exterior of the preschool, and being interviewed for the Church’s facebook page about our journey- First Church of the Nazerene Independence Belize.

Revival was LIT!!!!!!! The theme was Holy Spirit Regins. As I felt something that I have felt before during the 3 days of it. I really can’t explain it, but needless to say the Holy Spirit did something to me on the final night.
Harvest Thanksgiving was also an incredible experience as it a local thing here, and something that I have never experienced before either, but to me it was a big deal that my team and I were here for it, and it is a cultural thing, and I am all about taking part in local traditions.
Tonight we are going night fishing with LJ, and then tomorrow is a rest day/beach day (again)
Also I have another favorite memory from here that I forgot to mention in my previous post. Our first evening here, literally 2 hours after we got to the church, it was Weds night prayer meeting/Bible Study and afterwards we were handed some kind of tropical juice (not sure if it was made with local water or purified water at the time, but it didnt bother me) & a conch fritter, and OMG it was so good!!!!!!! I can now add conch to the list of interesting food that I’ve eaten.
My team and I are leaving on Weds to meet up with the rest of the squad for a few days of rest & relaxation at Caye Caulker before we head to Honduras.
Yippee……not really as I’m not looking forward to it at all on so many levels (my teammates have been trying to convince me that its going to be good, but I just have a feeling that I’m not going to enjoy given the nature of the place.)
Honduras is also all squad month, so all 36 of us are going to be living and serving together for the month.
Til next time your fellow sister in Christ,
Bonnie
