she cares deeply about the sun warming her flowers

before she takes the pollen away.

she is particular like that.

she is not in so much a rush

to use the flowers.

no rush.

she is in a rush to make sure sun gets to warm them.

“very peculiar”

peculiar indeed.

This is from a poem written by my best friend, Marilyn.

It was written out of a deep sense of fear of not fulfilling her purpose in this earth, a fear that I am very familiar with. It seems as though God is teaching us the same thing at the same time, even when we are as geographically far apart from each other as we could be.

When I think about how God has worked in my life, the process has always been gradual—painfully slow.

No rush.

He is sovereign and He is not afraid of the constraints of time. He has entered eternal covenant with our souls, and He will take all the time He wants to make sure we are ready before He fulfills His purposes within us.

His purpose is rest, and His rest is purpose.

Peculiar.

My other best friend, Paige, and I wrote a little song inspired by Marilyn’s poem.

It’s called “eternal sunshine!” Listen here

sun warms the blooming flowers
daffodils & dandelions

dancing in the gentle breezes
swaying with the changing seasons

gazing on their fragile beauty
she reveals all of her glory

sustained by her sweet rays
they worry for nothing
they don’t have to even pray
’cause she shines forever

“very still”

Listen and be reminded of God’s promises. He will fulfill His plans for you. He will provide. It is only natural of Him.

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you so anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ for the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your Heavenly Father knows you need them all. But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Amen.

On my final month. Leaving for Myanmar in a couple of days, where we will stay for a couple of weeks, and then heading back to Chiang Mai for final debrief. Then to the U.S.!

I’ve spent the last couple of weeks at a ministry called Wildflower Home, a magical, wonderful place that provides refuge for women and children rescued from crisis situations. Alongside the nuns that manage the place, my team and I have worked in the farm under the scorching sun, and we have truly enjoyed every second of it.

Prayer Requests:

  • It may be the last month, but God is not done moving! Pray for my squad and I to be present and focused.
  • That the Lord would equip us for whatever our next ministries look like
  • That He would prepare our hearts for going home and maintaining the knowledge that we’ve all received in this season
  • SISTERLY LOVE TO ABOUND!

Love you all. Thanks for sticking around and supporting me through every season of this wild life.
