one happy girl^^^^^
I went to camp this weekend. Let me tell you a little something about it.
- It is called La Montaña Christian Camps
- It is in the jungle
- It is magical
- I felt the Lord’s presence so deeply that it moved me to tears (not rare, but still, it happened)
- I laughed so hard that I peed like twice
- I made deep and eternal relationships with people that barely even speak my language
- I ate. So much. So much amazing food.
- I woke up every morning in a beautiful jungle and stood alone outside literally just staring out, speechless
- I had a coffee break every day at 4. Let me tell you, afternoon coffee/tea breaks are a thing in almost every culture except for American, so I don’t know what’s up with that, but getting a break from work to sit and have intentional community is a very good thing
- I danced and stayed up past my bed time just laughing
- I experienced a whole new level of intimacy with my team and had several deep, life-giving conversations
- I spooned Brooke every night in our twin bed
- I worshiped God in a language I don’t speak, and learned that musical worship is not about me “getting something out of it,” but is about a supernatural, universal God receiving our praise
- I swam in a mud pit and I am probably going to be getting mud out of my hair for 3 weeks
- I received so much love from the staff and the Costa Rican volunteers and had moments with them that I will never forget
- I was filled with unexplainable joy and energy.
- I stood on a mountain in the rain with a bunch of Costa Ricans and I actually felt the Lord say, “You are truly coming alive.”
- For an unquenchable hunger for the Lord, even if that means pain and loss
- For my last 8 days of ministry to be beautiful and life-giving
- For my team to continue to grow closer to the Lord and to each other, that the Lord would break down every wall between us
- That the squad would walk in the life of the Spirit of God, being filled with His compassion and His heart for people
