A letter to Ashley’s supporters:
Ashley is one of the Gospel Girls. If you know Ashley then you are already aware of her bright personality, caring heart, goofy sense of humor, and her love for Christ. She has played such a vital role on our team these last 4 months and has definitely made an impact on the Kingdom. One of the many things I love about Ashley is how evident it is that Christ is in her. She walks with the joy of the Lord in her heart and it shines on the outside as well.
Philippians 2:1-5, “Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and one of mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ.”
Ashley is great at imitating Christ’s humility, and just like Philippians 2:12-18, she does everything without grumbling. When we are tired, hot, hungry, and not thrilled about ministry she understands the higher purpose and without grumbling pours everything she has into the people we are serving.
Some adventures we’ve had together:
Being chased by a cow
Catching on fire
Epically failing at surfing
Being human jungle gyms for the kids at Ithemba School
Leading the most dramatic middle school camp of 2018
Waking up to pigs outside our tents
Having orphans that break in our home and steal our underwear
There are many more to come so stay tuned to her blog.

I’ve watched Ashley grow so much within these last four months. She has definitely embraced what it means to step out in boldness. When she’s given a task whether or not it may be unorganized or uncomfortable without hesitation she jumps right in. When we were in the Dominican Republic we had to teach English. We were given no curriculum or clear instruction of what the class should look like so we had to manage to prepare the best we could. Going into a class full of kids who may not understand everything we are saying, Ashley had no problem leading everyone in an engaging song of “Head Shoulders Knees and Toes,” as well as Simon Says. In Haiti, she adapted from being an evangelist to helping with demolition and painting. In South Africa she was a teacher at Ithemba, a music teacher for Beats and Books, a member of a Scottish man’s choir, and a camp counselor. This month she has been leading the children at the Lorato House in a few bedtime worship songs on her ukulele and was even asked to be a part of the Village Church Worship team. She has served in so many ways and God wants to use her in many more. Please continue to support my teammate by subscribing to her blog and YouTube channel as well as keeping her in prayer. Thank you Ashley for being an inspiring sister in Christ.
Your teammate,
