If you need a book to read in a small group and/or Bible study setting, here you go. If you need a reminder of the true weight of God’s glory and mercy, here you go. If you need a book to help reform your walk with the Lord, here you go. If you want a good book to read, here you go.
Dance, Stand, Run is truly a great book to read for any woman, whether she has been walking with the Lord all of her life or is simply exploring Christianity. The entire premise of the book is to remind daughters of the Lord to dance unashamed in His grace, to stand in the full assurance of their identity iHe has given us, and to run with reckless abandon as we pursue His Kingdom on mission.
It is a couple hundred pages long, but don’t let that scare you. Once you get past the prologue and the first chapter, you’re going to have a hard time putting this book down. It is chalk full of Jess Connelly’s personal stories as jumping off points throughout the book. And, every chapter was proof-read by one of the women in Connelly’s community to ensure that this book tackled the hard and uncomfortable, yet necessary and informative things that Connelly set out to tackle/ At the end of each chapter, there are reflection questions that one can answer by yourself or with another, and even share your reflections with others. However, if you aren’t able to read this book in community, I strongly encourage you to reflect on things covered (especially the uncomfortable stuff) and take it to the Lord and ask Him to shed light on it.
