Daddy,

Just over three days left. I’m ready to get out of here, but there are things I clearly still need to do: get my malaria meds [done], write my power of attorney, file my insurance claims [check], return books to the library, and actually start my goodbyes.

With four days left, it’s so easy to not be mentally present. With four days left, I could check out of life as I know it in exchange for my ideal of what WR [World Race] will be. With four days left, I’d miss four valuable days with my sisters, dog, family, and friends. It’d be so easy to lock myself in my room [to] learn Bulgarian, write blogs, read & edit, and to go to work all the time. While distance & productivity, spending money, and applying my skills are nice, but [they’re] not the end all, be all. Lord, I want to be present. I am asking You to allow me to be present, productive & present. I can only do it by Your strength and guidance, please hear my request and allow me to be obedient.

As you may have guessed it, I have four days left until I leave for Launch in Atlanta and I have plenty left to do. I’m ready to start this next adventure but life as I know it isn’t over yet. Have you ever tried to start a new book when you have one chapter left in the one you’re reading? That’s my life right not: the World Race is my ~new book~, I have a pretty good idea what’s inside but I don’t know specifics and American life has ~one chapter left~ and every well-written book (in my opinion) ends with a well-wrapped ending or an infuriating cliff-hanger but one can’t know until they get there.

Ultimately, I want to be present in my remaining hours. There have been some fun things that have happened on Last Day 1 of 4 (work, card games with my sisters, Trivia Night, and a dance party with my sisters), and there are bound to be many more fun things to come: painting my nails as my first act of unemployment, reading & editing more of my friends book draft, and possibly one more summer movie.

Do something that brings you joy today,
Angelica Moore
