It was a late evening on January 2, 2018. After checking the official numbers, I came to the sudden realization that we were $4 away from reaching $1,000. I had to tell the world (go on Facebook) to let inform everyone how close we were. After a somewhat rash posting, a dear friend of mine adopting box number 4, which unofficially got us to the $1,000.
After waiting for the official update to come later in the week, the new official number is $1,125, which is amazing! I cannot believe that a week and a half away from the city, clear loving support and generosity, and the power of social media is what got us to meet and surpass $1,000. So, what now?
Now, we have to look to the next goal: the first goal set up for my funding progress ($5,000). We have to reach $5,000 by May 15 so I can go to Training Camp (June 4-14). I find the difference to be quite daunting. However, I have been praying to reach $2,500 by February 15. Why then? Honestly, I am not sure. Why that much? Once again, not sure. It felt right, so we are just going to go with it. How do we get there? Great question. There are several ways that we can make up the difference to get to this intermediary goal ($1,375): adopting approximately 40 boxes (including some of the larger values); 29 people giving $25, $35, $50, $75, or $100 (8, 10, 3, 5, and 3, respectively); or, even one person, family, or organization giving all $1,375!
If you are interested in giving, please do so, because every last penny, quarter, and dollar makes a difference! If you cannot, please be praying for $2,500 by February 15. and tell keep telling people about me!
