WOW!! About the only word my mind can come up with when I think about the Squad God is allowing me to be a part of. The August 2018 squad is known as “i” Squad. And of course, having the incredible creative and amazing minds that my squad mates do, we ran with The Incredibles theme. This squad is full of amazing people! From the Squad Coaches, Mentor, Leaders and Advisors, I love this Squad! At training camp we were placed on a team of 6 or 7 people. We then had to give a team name to go by. We chose the name S.O.L.D.O.D. (Sons of Light, Daughters of Day), we love what the Bible has to say in 1 Thessalonians 5:5, and God gave us this name through this passage. Below is just a glimpse into some of the strengths, talents and ways God will use them for His kingdom and to help me along the way. I cannot wait to watch as God reveals even more of what He will do through each one of us, and as a team. Also listed are the links to each individuals World Race page. If you would like, subscribe to there blog updates if you would like to journey along with them as well.

Josh (https://joshschulz.theworldrace.org)
Josh is the leader of Team SOLDOD, and this guy is AWESOME!! He is in insane physical condition! He runs forever without tiring, I saw him scale a rock wall like Spider Man on our man hike and he just loves life! The thing that impresses me the most of what I have seen of Josh so far though is his servants heart. He looks around and sees what everyone else needs before everyone else even realizes they need it, and before he takes care of himself. I can’t even imagine how much better off the world would be, if all leaders had a servants heart like him.

Kayla (https://kaylakincaid.theworldrace.org)
Soft spoken, yet bold! Kayla has shown me that you can get your point across, that you can take control, without having to be harsh. I have seen her lead group devotionals, jump into a leaders role and even apologize for our entire squad when we were late getting back from ministry and dinner one night (Don’t worry. None of us got in trouble). Our Squad Mentor and Leaders were actually very happy we spent that much time together at ministry and dinner. But I was still impressed that Kayla had the courage, boldness and consideration to step up immediately. Also, her soft spokeness is a calming factor. Something God knows I will need over the course of these next 11 months.

Joe (https://josephnichols.theworldrace.org)
This guy. This guy reminds me of a younger me, and my best friend Marcus. I love this dude (as I do all my squad mates). I love his energy and passion for what he believes in, for his family and for life itself. He’s going to push me to stay active and in shape over these next 11 months and beyond. God is going to use him to keep me from becoming complacent throughout certain stretches of this journey. And like my best friend Marcus, he is not afraid to give me feedback in areas that I am doing well, where I need to focus and where I need to just get away from.

Regan (https://reganhorn.theworldrace.org)
Amazing! I knew before training camp even officially began, that she was special. Myself and about 7 others from my squad attended the story tellers work shop the day before training camp began. Being the introvert that I am, I was nervous about one less day of personal time. God knew that, and he provided Regan. Regan is an introvert as well, but has some extrovert tendencies. She has shown me how to balance my personal time while still pouring into people, and how important it is to allow people to pour into me (We also developed our own little high five at story tellers). I also admire Regans strength. She has been through so much, and is still going through a lot, but her strength is unbelievable! I know that God has placed her on this team, because I am going to need the strength He provides through her over these next 11 months.

Matt (https://matthewalexander.theworldrace.org)
This guy has no fear to jump in and do something, and I love it! It’s contagious! He just takes the bull by the horns and goes (we are going to have some awesome adventures together and also eat some strange things along the way). Like Joe, God has put Matt in my life to keep me from becoming complacent over the course of this journey. Matt will help me to become a little more of an extrovert, which I am going to need in certain ministry aspects throughout the life God has called me. I cannot wait to journey along with
Matt!

Megan (https://megansmall.theworldrace.org)
God knew that I would miss my family over the course of these next 11 months. He knew that I would miss trips with my son, mom and dad, sister, niece and nephew that I cherish so much to Disney. But being the Great God that He is, He did not over look this. He placed Megan on this team. The times that I’m really missing my family, or when I need to watch Disney films because I’m thinking about them, I know she will be right there. Megan also pushes me to step outside my comfort zone in certain areas. I know God will work through her in this way, to make sure I do not miss things He has planned along the way that I might otherwise. Also, her strength is insane as well. I know that God has placed her and Regan on this team for me to lean on throughout this journey, and I pray that I can show the same strength He has bestowed upon them.
These team mates of mine are AMAZING!! I cannot wait to do life with them! I could write all day about their attributes and what I have learned from them in this short time that I have known them. And I know God has so much more to teach me through each one. Please pray for us (individually and as a team), for our ministry and for the people we encounter. For protection, for peace, and for whatever the LORD lays on your heart.
Thank you for taking the time to read what the LORD has laid on my heart and what he has shown me, and for walking along beside me and my team throughout this journey.
