Pride…that is a big part of what has kept me from writing this specific blog until now. Pride is a sin I have battled for as long as I can remember. Not from the stance of “Look at me, Look what I did.” Truth is I actually don’t care for attention, or “eyes on me”. It’s just the opposite actually. I prefer to just cruise along, and not be noticed…much.
The pride I battle is admitting I can’t do everything on my own, more importantly, I’m not suppose to do anything on my own.
The World Race is going to be an amazing time! A time of adventures, miracles, healing, growing in Christ with my brothers and sisters and gaining new ones along the way! But I know it will also be a challenging time. There will be heartache, things that aren’t easy to see or do, sacrifices to be made and I will have to develop a level of faith beyond anything I thought possible.
This leads me to the first question I will ask, Would you please pray for me, for the countries my team and I will visit, for my team, for our relationships with each other and the people of the countries we visit, for Adventures in Missions, for whatever God lays on your heart? I (we) need prayer for this mission. When Charles Spurgeon was asked about the secret to his success, his response was “My people pray for me.” We need your prayers.
The second question I would ask of you is, would you please pray about sponsoring this ministry financially? This is another area where God has been revealing to me the pride in my life. I have found it very easy to share about this mission, where I am going, what my team and I will be doing, but…I have found it very difficult to talk about funding for this mission. My pride has kept me from asking others to help me financially with this calling. Then, one day, out of nowhere, as God usually does in my life, He gave me a wake up call. He showed me that I was being prideful by not asking others to help financially in this calling. I had been looking at the question as if your financial support was funding ME. As if this mission is about ME. Pride. This mission is not about me. It’s about spreading the gospel and the love of Christ, helping the orphans of the countries God calls us, helping victims of human trafficking and slavery and whatever else God calls us to do. Please pray for Gods guidance on supporting this mission financially. If He leads you in doing so you can donate on my webpage at andrewlewis.theworldrace.org or, if you would like to speak with me personally, please feel free to contact me about anything! I would love to answer any questions you may have.
Third question, would you please share this with anyone you know? My team and I would appreciate all the prayers and support from everyone who would like to walk along this journey with us, not just the people we know.
Thank you in advance for all of your support!
