Hello friends and family!
First of all, I want to thank you so much for your continued support. I am so very humbled by it and so grateful for your contributions, prayers, and love. I am still sending out thank-you notes, so thank you for your patience with me!!
I know it’s been a while since my last World Race update/fundraiser, so here we go!
* ADOPT A DAY *
I took the remainder of my fundraising costs and divided it by the number of days I’ll be on the field internationally (about 335 of them). It comes out to about $20! But I also know that $20 is a lot, so if you feel led, you can choose to sponsor me in this by ADOPTING A DAY FOR AT LEAST $10.
Here’s how it works: pick a day from August 3rd, 2018 to July 1st, 2019 to adopt. Donate $10 or more to my World Race account (linked below) and let me know what day you’d like to adopt. I’ll write that day in my planner (this is partially an excuse for me to bring my planner on the Race) and that day will be special for you!
EXAMPLE: You want to adopt your birthday? I’ll email you or video chat you (depending on my internet situation) and tell you all about how YOUR contribution and generosity impacted the community I’m serving that day. I’ll take some cool photos for you, maybe sing you happy birthday from Botswana (okay, so maybe you don’t want me to sing), make a friend on your behalf, eat something super weird by our standards and tell you about it, etc.
This fundraiser is one I am particularly excited about. We are told to commit each day to the Lord and that His mercies are new every morning. Through this fundraiser, I am reminded that each day is for Him first and for others second. Today is not about me. I am so humbled to know that I will be able to share in what He is doing with each of you, and I hope I can talk to you about specific ways your contributions have helped me tangibly serve to commit my days to Him!
