Hello and welcome to my blog!!!

Some of you may know me, but I wanted to introduce myself to those who don’t.

My name is Amanda Blakley. I was born on a naval base in Jacksonville, FL but call Troy, OH my home. I am 22 years of age, finishing off my last year of nursing school at THE Ohio State University in Columbus, OH where I currently live and work full-time. I have two very loving parents along with two sisters (older and younger), a brother-in-law, a now 1 year old nephew named Jaxxen, and I can’t forget to mention my golden retriever Luke. I have an amazing group of friends here in Columbus and am a member of H2O Church.

Here are a few fun facts about me:

     – I am your typical tomboy, but occasionally like dressing up

     – I love hiking, camping, fishing, playing soccer, and eating

     – I am both a cat AND dog person (and no, don’t make me choose)

     – I will be a Registered Nurse by the start of the World Race

     – My sisters and I share the same first letter of our names (hint…it’s the letter A)

     – My friends call me Manada due to a spelling error made by a previous boss

I have had the privilege to join many mission teams locally and internationally throughout high school and college. In these trips, I have seen God move in ways that are incomprehensible. I learned about the World Race through my own curiosity and desire for a longer term mission trip. This 11 month mission trip was a scary thing to commit to at first, but God continues to show me pieces of His plan as I learn to trust and wait on Him alone. I am THRILLED to begin this adventure and bring you all along!
