What I have Seen
“What I have seen
What I have heard
From the beginning
From what we observed.
What I have touched
Has given me life
Revealed to me by Jesus Christ
What I have seen
What I have heard
That I may live
In the house of the Lord
For you have heard
What He is like
There is no darkness
In the night”
I have not written a blog in a while, but I have written songs that have filled me.
I have run on empty.. and I have been filled again. Time and time again, it is His presence that saves me.
With my time in central america ending, and me writing this from a small cafe in Malawi, I am going to share with you what has been my biggest fight.
Giving the enemy room.
I find myself waking up and letting my mind roam free.
A beautiful thought.. but a dangerous territory.
As I read 1 John… I felt convicted. At the beginning of the chapter it starts with a declaration. Before getting into what John needed to say, He starts off with something that He thinks is important.
Lemme try to write it how I heard it:
“Hey, so before I say anything.. remember what we observed and what we saw with our own eyes. Remember what our hands touched?! It gave us life! Eternal life was shown to us by our Father. Do you remember these things?
Because we have all know these things, we must grow together. We want to remind you that we are all together in Christ! I want to remind you of this so that your joy can be complete!”
I am sure John has a lot to say.. at this point He is old in age and dang, I can’t imagine how much wisdom is inside Him. So it stood out to me that He felt the need to start with that.
And with that,
If I was writing a book of the bible…lets call it the book of “Amandah” (h at the end so it sounds more spiritual haha)
But okay so I’m writing this book.. what do I start off with?
What is the thing that I would start off with?
————
This is something that I am going to be thinking about, and would encourage you to think about this as well..
What would your declaration be in the mornings? What does your heart need to hear before your day starts?
Let‘s start to declare and remember the things that we have seen and the things that we have heard!
blessings from Africa 🙂
