A few months ago, I was still in the third year of my discipleship program. We had our morning devo per usual, except that this day we were to sit outside and find our own space. Listen, be still, wait for God to speak. So I did, and being a visual person, He not only whispered some special stuff to me, but He showed it to me as well. Hope it speaks to your heart or just makes you dudes smile today.
xoxo

Just beyond me, the light breaks into a patch of the forest. From my vantage point, it’s as if it was lit from within. Not a harsh light, not like that from a blazing fire, but a softer form of itself. A light that is revealing, all the while glowing so gently on everything it touches.
I like to imagine that’s how God is when He breaks through our exterior: not harsh and blinding – but all at once, being bright enough to reveal what we need Him to fix, and gentle enough to give us the courage to say yes.
Some days He makes big breakthrough in our lives and other days, it is a small piece of forest that gets just enough light to see what’s there and celebrate the beauty of what it’s becoming. Forests grow wild and free, uninhibited. I believe God smiles when He sees us start to do the same.
