I’m so excited to introduce you to my team The Wild Geese. Let me explain this team name… it comes from the Island of Iona in Scotland. The Wild Goose is a celtic symbol of the Holy Spirit. “The Wild Goose” is a reminder that the Spirit of God cannot be contained. When it comes to God expect the unexpected; wild geese are just that, wild, they cannot be tamed or controlled. This is my prayer over this team: that the Spirit of God is upon us that it spills out on everyone we come in contact with and all for the Glory of our Good Good Father.
From the instant we were put together during team formations we all knew what we had was special. GUYS, I have been praying for these humans since LAST August. The humans I would serve with, live with, experience struggles and joys with, and everything in between, and wow, I can say, without a doubt that the Lord, graciously, hand picked each of us to be on the World Race and be a part of The Wild Geese. So. Thankful.
I’m going to do a brief introduction of each member of my team because you will be hearing about them, I’m sure, so putting a name with a face will be helpful!
This is Sarah (subscribe to her blog here https://sarahhickman.theworldrace.org/). Sarah has a beautiful soul and a gentle spirit. She is caring, and loving and so so kind. She genuinely yearns to be the hands and feet of Jesus and I cannot wait to see how the Lord chooses to use her.
This is Victoria (subscribe to her blog here https://victoriaborgela.theworldrace.org/). Victoria is really cool. Seriously. She is unique and genuine and creative. Victoria plays the guitar and leads worship and I’m excited to see how God chooses to use her gifts on the field.
This is Christian (subscribe to his blog here https://christiancudworth.theworldrace.org/) Christian has such a willing heart to learn and grow. He views our God as a BIG God. He is an encouragement to our team and I know that God is going to use these 11 months to do radical things in Christian’s life and in the people he comes in contact with.
This is Jordan (you know what to do https://jordanrichburg.theworldrace.org/). I laugh with Jordan a lot. She is willing and strong. She is a prayer warrior for our team and is dedicated to spending intentional time with Jesus. Jordan is going to do big things for the Kingdom of God this year, I just know it.
This is John (subscribe to his blog here https://johnveal.theworldrace.org/). John has a huge heart for the Lord. He is intentional in the way he cares for our team and he always lends a listening ear. John also plays the guitar (seriously, we’ve got TWO guitars on our team woop woop). I can’t wait to watch as God works through him this year.
WELL there ya have it, The Wild Geese.
I only spent 11 days with these people, at training camp, and they are already so dear to my heart, as we grow together as brothers and sisters in Christ I know my love for them will only grow deeper and deeper. I can’t wait to watch our relationships with each other and with the Father unfold. I can’t wait to see how God uses our team for the Glory of His Kingdom. I’m excited for all of it, and I know it won’t always be perfect but I’m ready for it. They are my dream team, and I’m already so proud of them.
Be praying for us. We are still in the middle of fundraising, we are beginning to say goodbyes to people we love, as well as preparing mentally, physically, spiritually for this journey. The enemy has been attacking our whole squad, hard, but we will stand firm in our faith for we serve the Most High.
THREE WEEKS until Launch. Let’s do it.
