This is Jonathan! I’ve had the privilege of getting to know him this month and now getting to call him my friend. Jonathan is my ministry hosts son, he is 17 and goes to college in the city of Yangon about an hour away.
Jonathan has a huge servants heart! He desires to love those around him well and serve everyone who lives here, including his parents as best he can. He isn’t in ministry, but he lives out the commandment of loving your neighbor really well.
I asked Jonathan if he considers himself more of a leader or a servant, he said
“I want to be a leader, but good leaders are always servants too.”
AMEN!
He carries himself in wisdom and maturity.
Jonathan radiates Jesus to me in his compassion, kindness and brotherly discipline to the children who live here at the orphanage. His passion is inspiring them to dream big dreams and see them go far in life. He is intentional with everyone he talks with, and knows how to make people feel seen.
I’ve been able to have several intentional conversations with Jonathan about his heart for Jesus and his people. Jonathan wants to open a children’s home, he said,
“When I go to the city I see children that are hungry, a lot of children in Myanmar don’t have families. I want to open an orphanage for kids to come.”
Praise! For people who want to see heavenly love come to earth and dream God sized dreams!
I think people who dream with the Father and encourage those around them to do the same, those are the people that bring revival. They’re the followers who lead others into passion and intimacy with God.
I see that for Jonathan. He will do great things for the Kingdom because of the love he has for Gods people. He sees the great things his earthy father has done and God is saying that He will do even greater things. We see in scripture the power of generations that choose to say “yes” to living for Gods glory, David & his son Solomon (who were also in the line of Jesus himself.) David led armies & had deep intimacy with God, Solomon became Israel’s wisest king and built the Temple, & tons more! God finds pleasure and blesses those who are willing to go big or go home for Him. Jonathan will be a man that helps bring the Gospel to this country, maybe not by preaching, but by the way he loves people. He looks different than the world around him in the best way, and people are drawn to him.
People are drawn to his face of Jesus.
