Belize, what a month of enjoyment you were. The ministry this month had me on cloud 9. We had various types of projects this month, many of them being manual labor related. We learned how to build a concrete wall, painted a rehab center called Hedges for people struggling with drugs and alcohol, helped clean and prepare classrooms for teachers before school started, picked up trash in the local park. We cooked dinner for the men from the rehab center and listened to the ways God changed their lives. We went to a girls home and celebrated birthdays on a few different occasions, baking cakes and playing soccer with them. We even got to do a puzzle with them, one of my favorite ministry days to be honest.

I loved each and every one of my ministry opportunities. The chance to change up my ministry each day makes my soul so happy. I got to do things I wasn’t the best at (building a wall) and it ended up being so much fun hanging out with the boys on the crew. I think they were a little taken back at how much fun I was having but it was such a fun friendship I was able to create this month by simply just being open to the different tasks at hand.

Something my team had encouraged me in was to engage in different ministry opportunities that come up and I was able to grow in that so much this month. I took up just about every option and I was so glad I did. It was uncomfortable but that’s right where I want to be, it’s where we find the most growth.

Ministry doesn’t need to be sharing the gospel through words, it can simply be through your actions. That’s what my ministry looked like this month and it’s been one of my favorites on the Race so far. I love just living my actions out through God and revealing Him to those around me in that way.

Month 8 is completed and now I am off to Guatemala with my new team, Las Chiquita’s! (The short girls, I am only 5’4” and the tallest one of 6) We will be spending our month in the jungle in Rio Dulce, Guatemala!! I am so excited to be entering month 9 with these beautiful women and doing the rest of The Race with them. Here’s to 3 more months of My World Race!
