I am just ending my eighth month of The Race and that means team changes. Leaving my team of the last four months won’t be the easiest but I know that we have all learned so much from one another and we now will get to share that with our new teams for the final three months of our Race. Here is a short letter I wrote to my team:
New Kids on the Block. Thank you for an incredible 4 months of my Race. You showed me how to love like Jesus. To have a willing “yes” in my spirit and do things wholeheartedly. You showed me how to live a life of ministry, not just during the required hours. If I could give one word to summarize New Kids, I would call us INFLUENCERS. We influenced others to join along in our journey. We brought joy, determination, and willing hearts. I truly couldn’t have done months 4-8 of my Race without you. It will be hard to leave you, but I can leave knowing confidently that we accomplished the task at hand in this season. We pushed one another to be better versions of ourselves, to do the hard things, and to do them with the right heart posture. We convicted one another and made us better because of it. We called each other higher. And that’s the type of community I want to live in, one that’s going to push me to be my best self. Thanks New Kids, for fighting for me and loving me each step of the way.
I pray for each and every one of you as we enter the last three months of our Race to bring that influence into your next teams. To bring that joy, determination, and a willing heart. You each mean so much to me and I hope to take what I’ve learned from you not just into this last season of my Race, but to my eternal Race that The Lord has set before me. Each and every one of you have influenced me tremendously. Keep being a positive influence to everyone around you.
– forever, a new kid on the block
