My passion for photography was used in my ministry this month and man was it fun. I entered my host’s home the first night and I saw empty photo frames and I knew right then and there that I was going to have those filled before I left.

Our ministry hosts, Paul and Anita, had been wanting to get family photos done for quite some time. I was so thrilled to be able to do that for them. They hadn’t taken any pictures with their daughter Faith who is now 5 years old, and she was sad she had no photos up on the wall of herself. And so I fixed that. We went out and took photos right outside their cute home on the dirt street and it was so much fun! They are the most beautiful family and had so much fun during the photo shoot. I loved seeing them interact with one another and just capturing them in those moments. Showing them the joy they carry and how beautiful they are. It’s my favorite thing.

The mother, Anita, told me later the next day that she had so much fun during the photo shoot and that she was her true self in that moment. She said that it doesn’t happen often and she was so thankful I was able to bring out that quality of joy and her real self within her. For those that have been reading my blogs since day one, I received a key at the beginning of the year with the word “joy” engraved in it and I still had yet to give it away to someone. And the night before I left their home, it hit me: my key belonged to Anita. And so before I left that next morning, I gave her my key. I told her that she carries so much joy in her heart, and to never let that hide within her. She is an incredible woman and I’m truly so honored to have had her as my ministry host this past month.

And so here are some of the photos from that day. Not an elaborate blog with words, but rather some of my favorite photos from the photo shoot. I hope you enjoy! (:
