Dear Brother or Sister,

Not everyone has a heart for or a desire to change the world. But the world needs changing. Everything you do has the power to change the world even if it’s just a small degree. You have the power to plant fields of kindness in the world, in your home, in your family that will affect generations to come. Help me reach my goal for The World Race so I can get closer to my dream of changing the lives of children living in poverty and injustice.

I’m writing this letter to share a great opportunity that has opened up for me. When I graduated from Stetson University with my degree in International Studies, I faced the question of applying to graduate school. Instead, I decided to apply to Adventures in Missions, a missions organization, and was accepted into their 11 month missions program called The World Race. In January 2019, I have the chance to launch with my squad to serve in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, India, Nepal, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Romania, and Ukraine.

For as long as I can remember, I have had a heart for service. In high school, I served in my church’s children’s ministry, including leading Vacation Bible School (VBS) music and dance, shared my time with my local community through student organization projects, and volunteered whenever I had the chance with local organizations. Seeing people happy and God working in their lives, always made me happy. That led me to join a missions student organization at my university, so I could continue to serve more people in the local and neighbouring cities. My favourite time of the year was Spring Break, as we would travel to a nearby state and dedicate a week to serving another community. It was not glamorous; we’d sleep on church floors, eat chicken sandwiches, and wake up at sunrise to get to work. However, seeing the difference we made in people’s lives and seeing the light on their faces was priceless. I’ve served in my community, served in other states, now I believe God is sending me out into the world to reach other masses.

Reaching out to people in need and lending them a hand is my calling. God has been a great blessing in my life and I want to share that blessing. The World Race is a service missions’ program, which allows me to serve in 11 countries over the course of 11 months. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip, but also an intensive discipleship program designed to allow radicals like I, who are dissatisfied with the status-quo, to rise to the challenge of seeing the world transformed through the tangible expression of God’s love. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with organizations and ministries in the local community to preach the Gospel, build schools, work in orphanages and clinics, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring restorative hope of God’s love to many tribes and nations.

I will face many challenges all throughout the World Race, but as I prepare for my departure, one of my greatest challenges is financing my ministry. Like most other mission organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to make it to training camp in October, I need to raise $5000 by September 20. The overall cost of the program is $18,000, which will cover all field expenses for the duration of the program, including visas, transportation, accommodation, and medical insurance. I’m reaching out to family & friends like you, believing you can help build me up and send me out into the world. As I take this large leap of faith, would you prayerfully consider joining me at $20, $50 or $100 per month? By supporting me, you are part of God’s Kingdom work.

If you  have any questions about my journey with The World Race, I’d absolutely love to talk with you about it and share the specific things God has laid on my heart. Also visit my blog site and subscribe to stay updated throughout my journey. I pray that God will place on your heart the best way for you to support me.  Thank you in advance for your support!
