So few weeks ago I had a very special coworker pray over me. She prayed that God would help me to hang up a spiritual stocking and as I prepared for this trip that he would fill it. Well since then it really has been kind of amazing to pay attention to all the blessings that he’s poured out on me.
At the gathering I had to say goodbye to friends and family, I got to spend time with a whole bunch of people that have been intentional blessings in my life. In one room I had family, friends from high school, friends from college, past roommates, families I had babysat for, families I work with, coworkers, friends from small group, and friends from church. All of them had gathered simply to just love and support me and to say goodbye. Over the next few days I have intensional time blocked off right up until I get on that plane. Trying to fit everything in and everyone in. I know I’m not going to be able to see everyone that I would like to and a part of me is sad about that. But along with the emotions of leaving, I wouldn’t want it to hurt any less. Because, the reason there is so much pain in saying goodbye is because I have been so truly blessed. The people that God has placed in my life are intentional blessings and things that I try really hard not to take for granted.
Getting to be a part of people’s stories is a humbling for me. Seeing kids from months old to 16 yrs old that I have been a part, in helping them become who they are. Getting to bless and be a part of their families with smiling parents and dear friends that are all in such unique seasons of life. My mom got to meet and see a large part of who I am today 🙂 Because you all are a part of my story and I can’t sum it up properly with words. I just couldn’t do it justice but I am so thankful for the time that I have gotten to spend with you all.
As I am getting ready to travel to 11 countries and meet people from 11 different cultures as well as love my teammates well and experience all that God has for me I have great excitement. I know that this is going to be hard, but I also know that it is exactly what God has for me in this season. My goal with this trip is to be as intentional as possible in the coming months because it is a gift and gifts are meant to be cherished.
Thank you for being a part of my Journey. I am excited to get to share pieces of this trip through my blog. But I am also excited to hear stories from home as the coming months happen because a large piece of my heart is still here. Be intentional with the time that God has given you and the people that God has put in your life because they truly are intentional blessings.
