This month we are at KIM (Kids International Ministries) outside of Manilla, Philippines. It is all squad month which means the 35 of us are all together in one location! Our entire squad is staying on KIM’s campus. It has been really fun so far. Having everyone here on the same campus makes it really hard to get sleep! After ministry we eat dinner then there is always something going on… card games, ping pong, swimming, worship, board games, all sorts of fun things!!!

KIM is involved in a variety of different ministries throughout the community. Currently we are helping with construction at the children’s home. I helped mix concrete and pave the sidewalk out in front of the children’s home. We have also been doing multiple different painting projects.

Another ministry KIM has a hand in is the pregnancy clinic right down the street. We have been going there and hosting a bible study for the women. We are also helping the doctor there by taking the women’s body weight, their blood pressure, and the pulse of the ladies. A few of us get to go in the room and find the heart beats of the babies and do the sonogram! Hearing the heart beats of these unborn babies is so beautiful. This clinic is for women that can’t really afford to go to a real doctor. At the end of their visit the women get eggs, and vitamins to take with them. Most women in the Philippians have lots of babies at a very young age.

This clinic provides nourishment for these women’s bodies and nourishment for their souls.

The biggest part of KIM’s ministry is what they call the FEEDINGS. This is done twice a day everyday with the exception of Sunday. KIM makes something very comparable to a stew in mass quantities here on campus and then takes this stew to really impoverished areas in the community. When we get to these communities we walk through the streets calling out “FEEDING… FEEDING!!” When the children hear “FEEDING” they start flooding out. Some of these areas we are going to are dump sites and there homes are built upon debris and trash. Once the children start coming we start distributing the stew. Each child brings there own serving dish. Once the children have their food we have them sit down and we then act out a skit/ tell a bible story. The focus is to not only feed these tiny bodies but more importantly feed these tiny souls. Once the bible study is over we pray and play with the children!

The other huge part of the FEEDINGS is just walking through the very impoverished community and praying for the people. We share the gospel and what we are doing and just get to love on these hurting people.

This has been the most eye opening experience yet.

Romans 6:13

Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.
