As most of you know, I grew up in the middle of Illinois, which is the heartland of CORN production! I could step out of my front door and see cornfields for miles and miles. Looking out over a green cornfield with a slight breeze and a beautiful Midwest sky definitely holds a special place in my heart.

This journey I am about to embark on will take me from my Midwest cornfields to fields full of rice that will stretch as far as the eye can see! I can’t wait!!:)

My journey begins in Indonesia and it happens to be ranked 3rd in the world for rice production.

What I am looking forward to most is how this journey is going to push me to grow spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. I have already begun preparing my heart through prayer and my devotional time. I have also started training my body for the long walks ahead.

Training Camp is right around the corner and I am required to pass a fitness test!! I KNOW… Oh my goodness!  I have to walk 3 miles under 50 minutes… with 50 lbs of added weight on my back!! I’ve got this 😉

Please keep me in your prayers!

James 1:2-4

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
