Hello friends,
It’s been quite some time since last making a blog post of any thoughts/opinions/encouragement. I’d like to use this post to do just that.
Some of you may be wondering where i’m at in my walk of faith… well logistically i’m still safe and cozy at home (to a certain extent). But spiritually (which is most important) i’m definitely struggling to embrace the high calling that Almighty God (YHWH) bestowed upon us as His people/children of the Light/ambassadors of heaven/His representatives here on earth. I may be putting His grace to the test but my heart is not yet ready to do otherwise.
In a small effort to be zealous for His ways, i’d like to voice my stance/opinion on a few matters that are constantly making headlines here in North America. The three topics I would like to discuss are abortion, mandatory vaccines, & GMO food. I will discuss them in that order, supported by personal/biblical perspectives to justify my notions.
Abortion:
As followers of The Way/”Christ Followers”, I would like to exhort you to stand firm on the stance that abortion is murder and that it directly violates the commandment “thou shall not murder” (Exodus 20:13). We should never consider this as an option in any circumstance and should always encourage others to do likewise. We should also be active in assisting those who have denied abortion and have chosen to protect life v.s to destroy life.
Should we be advocating for strict abortion laws? …. I don’t believe it’s wise to be enforcing our ways on people who have not surrendered their lives to YHWH God. Instead we should be proclaiming a message of repentance and forgiveness of sins in the name of Yahusha (Jesus Christ) and allow the Holy Spirit to do the convicting. My opinion.
Mandatory Vaccines:
I personally don’t see the need for any vaccinations if we are maintaining the overall condition of our bodies/our temples (1Corinthians 6:19) by living a healthy, holistic lifestyle. I’m not insisting that all vaccines are bad but I strongly presume that the majority of vaccinations are garbage and pushed upon us by the agenda of the pharmaceutical industry.
I also believe that fear mongering is a common tactic that is used to push the agenda of the pharmaceutical industry which profits greatly from the production and distribution of vaccinations. I often like to combat fear with: we have not been given a spirit of fear, but rather a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind (2Timothy 1:7).
I write this all in response to numerous news articles that contribute to the fear mongering. I’ll use this one from the Global News outlet as an example. https://globalnews.ca/news/5117390/unvaccinated-vaccine-hesitancy/
I write this to say that everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether you’re pro-vaxc or anti-vaxc. I do believe that our rights and freedoms as citizens of this nation are being violated if we are forced to receive an injection of an unknown “substance” into our bodies in order to have full rights & privileges as other citizens e.g public schools, recreational parks, & other facilities.
Please consider this opinion from a biblical perspective and discern truth on the matter as faithful representatives of The Way.
Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs): You may find it odd that I am addressing this topic but… the reality is that food plays a very big role in our lives and also has a large contribution towards our very survival/existence as created beings (next to oxygen & water of course).
This is not a topic that is often found on news headlines, but it has definitely made it’s way into the social media outlets, and coming from an agricultural background, I’ve experienced the fullness of it throughout my life on the farm, agricultural college, farming magazines, farm shows, etc.
I’ll attach an article if you’re uneducated on the topic of GMOs, but i’d like to voice “my opinion/rebuke” since coming to faith in The Way just over four years ago.
In Genesis 1:11&12 it is written that God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so. 12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Additionally in verse 31 “And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.“
I want to emphasize on the last 7 words of verse 12. “And God saw that it was good.” My thoughts in regards to this topic are; Why are we simple & sinful human beings tampering with the divine work of the Creator? Why do we think that we can improve the perfection of the perfect Creator? Why are we advocating for a corrupt industry that is intent on monopolizing our food system over advocating the glory of our awesome God and His perfect ways?
I believe it is prideful and arrogant that these things are being tampered with. I believe it is a dishonoring abomination to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that we, as bible believing followers of The Way, should not be participating in this abomination by 1. buying seed that has not been tampered with in a laboratory & 2. speaking against the genetic modification of any living/created organism.
Some might counter this argument/opinion by saying “GMOs are a response to the fall of man/the curse” found in Genesis 3:17. I will counter that by sharing Leviticus 19:19 which was a commandment given to us following “the curse/fall of man”.
“Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.” KJV
I am not intent on glorifying the “organic” industry or GMO labeling on food products. I am intent on saying that we should be striving to honour and glorify the Creator in all aspects of our lives, a big part of that being how we grow our food and how we nourish our temples of the Holy Spirit.
Summary: I apologize if this blog post offends you or dampens our relationship in any sense. I am merely vocalizing my zeal for the Creator and His perfection that is made known throughout the ends of the earth. I hope & pray that this will awaken your spirit and encourage you to dig into the truth that is found throughout the holy scriptures.
