Rwanda is our currently country and I am very excited to see what this month has in store. You may be aware of some of ministry we were involved with last month and it was very special and very amazing. Although it was great in Ethiopia it was also difficult for many of the people we travel with. We had “lock downs” multiple times, due to peaceful rallies, which turned. We had a team of girls stuck in a hotel due to the same reasons, and it was actually very difficult for many people due to all this situations we encountered. It is easy to say that it was really stressful. Thankfully no one was hurt, and the only casualty was a cell phone, a credit card, and a small amount of cash.

Now, like I was saying, Rwanda is a place in which I am looking forward to. The country is beautiful, the people are friendly, and it has a much more a relaxed feel to it. Despite the genocide the happened in 1994 and all the terrible things that happened to the people of Rwanda during that time, the people here are rather lovely. Word on the street actually informed us that after the events of the genocide, the people actually owned up to their faults and decided to apologize to neighbors and others in which they wronged. The results of their actions actually started a huge redemption for the country and let me tell you that it is very noticeable and really cool. There still is a lot of poverty, and poor ways of water distribution here, but for now it’s a great place to be.

Our ministry this month is to help teach English to a small school of pre k, and kindergarten aged children. We will be attending local churches and possibly share messages to the congress, or we will be doing labor work to help out the church. The church we are helping with is actually not open at this time due to some government restrictions and will be closed until the government needs are met. The majority of the roads here are dirt and most people walk, but the biggest issue this church has is its lack of a proper parking lot. This is just one of the reasons the government closed them down, but the pastor knows the Lord will provide and be able to get all the renovations taken care of. Once the renovations are finished then the church will reopen. (According to the government officials.)

Right now our month looks busy, we have no Wi-Fi, and the food is delicious. The simple life isn’t always easy, but boy is it worth it.

Until next time……
