Leaving the country for the first time, I knew my eyes were about to encounter incredible sights. I knew I would see things I’d never imagined. What I didn’t expect was my vision to change after seeing them.

I should’ve seen barefoot kids scraping small toes across jagged rocks.
I SEE children more agile and quick in a soccer game because they feel the earth beneath their feet.

I should’ve seen houses barely covered with roofs made of tin. I SEE homes whose roofs create music as families sleep.

I should’ve seen spare car parts, old boxes, and empty bottles wasting away in trash piles. I SEE toys for kids, furniture for patios, and containers used for household storage.

I should’ve seen stacks of rocks mixed with bottle caps and broken glass. I SEE beach sandcastles decorated with pictures and stained glass windows.

We have been in Haiti for one week and I am still in awe of its beauty. Statistically, it is one of the poorest and spiritually dark countries a person can visit. A true and evident fact. What I SEE however is so much more.

God has a special place in his heart for the people of Haiti. God is allowing me to see it from his eyes. He has given them the opportunity to live out the prayer of John the Baptist.

“He must become greater; I must become less.”

They don’t have much in the material but they carry joy in their eyes that is eternal.

God has already done miraculous things through our teams. It has only been one week, but he’s already taught me more than I can comprehend! (A separate blog for another time). But the one thing I am sure of is my vision will never be the same! Each day I open my eyes is a day I see the goodness of his love. In the brokenness, I SEE his shards of beauty.

Lord keep improving my vision.

Now, I see.

The Lord is moving in incredible ways with our teams as we evangelize in mountain villages, teach bible stories in schools, and spend quality time with our elders.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we continue to let the Holy Spirit guide our hands and feet. If you would like to partner with me financially so that I can continue to do God’s work, you can donate directly to my blog: teejackson.theworldrace.org

Thank you for following my journey!
Much love from Haiti,
