Dear Friends and Family,
I hope this letter finds you well! At the age of 29, the majority of my peers are most likely sending you wedding announcements or baby shower invitations. While I thought I might doing the same by now, God has planned a different route for my life! I am answering His call on my life and asking you to be a part of my journey.
I was recently accepted to go on an 11-month mission trip called the World Race. The World Race is part of Adventures in Missions. An interdenominational missions organization that has sent over 100,000 people into the mission field since 1989. The World Race is one of their trips, specifically for young adults to travel to 11 countries in 11 months. I will be leaving in January, 2018 to travel to Haiti, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, India, Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Uganda. While in each of these countries, my team and I will be partnering with local churches, hospitals, and ministries to serve those in areas of need.
For almost 10 years I have been holding onto my passport, longing for the chance when God would call me to use it. I am so thankful and excited that the time has finally come! I will be living out the purpose that God placed on my heart so long ago; to serve as God served and love as God loved. The World Race will give me the chance to pray for the sick, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, house the homeless, and minister to those who may not know Christ. I could not be more excited, but I cannot accomplish this alone.
So here’s where you come in. There are two goals I need to accomplish as I prepare for this trip and I need your help. The first goal is to create a prayer team for my journey. My team and I will need a lot of prayer, not only for safety and protection, but also prayer that our ministry will be successful in reaching others and showing the light of Christ in all that we do. If you would like to partner with me in prayer, feel free to send me an email ([email protected]) and I will send you prayer updates throughout my time on the World Race.
The second goal of my preparation is fundraising. This is the hardest part to ask because it requires great humility on my part to ask this of my loved ones. I will obey God and ask you to be a blessing unto my trip so that I might in turn be a blessing to others. The total cost of my trip will be $18,100. While I know this is quite overwhelming, when God calls He also provides. I ask you to pray and if God is calling you to give, He will provide for your needs as well. Funding for the trip will cover the costs of training, travel, lodging, food, and other necessities while abroad.
While you might not be traveling with me, your contributions of prayer or giving are still doing significant work; both for His kingdom and for my calling. I pray that God would lead you in the best way for you to support me. I am excited for this journey and thankful that you are going to be a part of it with me!
Attached is a list of ways in which to donate, dates for my financial deadlines, and a return envelope for written checks.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a person in my life that I could send this letter to. Whatever your contribution, I love and appreciate you for it!
