As most already know based on how they got here, My name is Spencer Marks. I have recently graduated from Eastview Highschool and am 18 years old. The question hanging over my head for awhile now about what my future education and career will look like has been something I have not been able to find the answer to. When I first thought of taking a gap year I did not like the idea because I thought it would be difficult to get back into a rhythm of going to school after not doing so for so long. Then the World Race Gap Year program was mentioned to me so I began a little bit of research and ended up deciding that this was what is going to be best for me! I am beyond excited about what these 9 months will hold for me. I know I will love getting to travel but there are many things I will miss back home. I am going to miss my family; My mom, dad, sister who will be a junior, and yes even my younger brother who will be in 8th grade. I will miss my two kitties, Cozmo and Josie. My home church that I attend every Sunday will be missed along with the youth group I am a part of on Wednesday nights. These few things along with many others such as friends and extended family will also be missed greatly but I know this trip will be amazing and make me a better man of God and truly help me grow into the person I want to be.
