What am I doing next? I am thrilled to announce that I have been accepted into the Generation 42 Leadership Academy (G42) and will be moving to Mijas, Spain in March 2020. The World Race opened my eyes to new passions for serving others and dreams for my future. G42 will give me the tools to get there!

What exactly is G42? G42 is a 9-month program designed to disciple young people who are called to live in pursuit of Christ. It also equips leaders to plant authentic and impactful missional community wherever they go. I will learn from teachers who have led churches, ministries, and missional businesses all over the world. The program is broken into three segments – 3 months of classroom training, 3 months of an internship, followed by 3 more months in the classroom. The 6 months of classroom training will take place in Mijas, Spain where I will attend class 5 days a week learning practical application of missionary work. The internship can be anywhere in the world and is designed to provide real world leadership experience balancing work, mission and community. G42 does an incredible job of placing their students into internships that align with their future goals and passions. It allows you to put into practice what you are learning in the classroom as well as what you hope to pursue after graduating. Placements could be anything from serving with refugees in Uganda, church planting and discipleship in India, or missional business in Thailand.

So what does this mean? I will be fundraising again! I am forever grateful for all the support I received while fundraising for my World Race. Whether you encouraged me, sent up some prayers, or donated financially, each of you contributed to where I am today. My last two years with the World Race have changed my life and the trajectory of my future in more ways than I ever could have imagined. Your support allowed my teammates and I to:

  • Connect a global organization with a school that had been financially abandoned and left without resources in Haiti. Video: https://youtu.be/anMt1dV89CM
  • Equip and educate young girls with feminine hygiene supplies and kits that allows them to continue going to school when they otherwise would miss days of classes because of poor sanitation while in Uganda.
  • Pray healing over a blind man every morning and evening for 30 straight days in Cote d’ivoire, Africa.
  • Hear firsthand from a Syrian refugee about growing up and eventually fleeing from a war-torn country. [He is now a dear friend.]
  • Pray for and encourage a man who was unwelcome in his church but dreamt of our chance encounter in Jamaica. Video:  https://youtu.be/fUgdpBB1XUk
  • Sort and pack up bibles to be distributed to Christians without access to the gospel throughout Southeast Asia with my parents in Thailand.
  • Give the women of a rural African village the confidence to use their voice while changing the perspective of the men who had previously silenced them.

These are just a few of the moments that have changed my life, deepened my faith, and given me a newfound passion for serving and fighting on the behalf of others. Thank you for believing in me, encouraging me, and trusting me to steward your donations well.

In order to attend G42 and continue this journey, I must raise $10,500 to cover tuition, room and board, as well as flights to and from my internship. **Also, if you’re in Houston & need custom sugar cookies, a baby-sitter, dog sitter, house sitter, etc. I’m your gal! (and bonus: 100% will go straight towards G42!)**

All my love, Sara
