You’ve probably been waiting for this for a while and I’m sorry, maybe some Ghirardelli brownies or Dot’s donuts may fix it.
My amazing squad and I made it to Honduras after leaving Cambodia in early November. We have awesome ministry hosts named David and Scarleth. David is from Texas and Scarleth is Honduran through and through.
Our day to day ministry is consistent. The teams go to a special needs orphanage for residents of all ages. At this home they play games, make projects to sell and generate income for the home, and they love really well. Everyday we’re greeted with enormous smiles and big hugs. Our days are full of laughter either with the residents or one of my hysterical team members saying something that puts us into a fit of uncontrollable laughter.
Guess what?
Chicken butt
Yeah I gotcha there. Had to add some humor to keep you interested.
As you know, and you should know, thanksgiving happened. Let me tell you how bomb that turkey day mac n cheese was. Kraft has never tasted so good (Sorry Mrs. Cotter). David even put on the football game, and Mom I’m sorry for your Cowgirls’ loss and tell Greg too, I don’t know what it is with you Dallas fans.
I remember being in Lancaster just a few months ago fantasizing about Christmas, now its right around the corner and its illegal to cut down trees here so let’s hope the fine isn’t too expensive.
Disclaimer: I do not intend to cut down any trees that was another joke. I’ve still got more to tell you.
THE LORD IS SO GOOD
This guy named Matt Blair is with us for a couple weeks. He is an AIM employee who goes into the field and disciples young men into being better men of God and it is super working. And because he is our only leader we have for the time being he is teaching all four teams a little something about how to be better in the eyes of the Lord. Anyways, before one of his teachings he had this super awesome worship sesh and during a super lit prayer I just felt my body and my surroundings turn into water and I knew in that moment I was filled with the Holy Spirit. For the rest of the night I was just giddy and excited and filled with love from my God.
I wish you could have experienced it. He is moving mountains in me and in the entire world and you too, I know it and I’m excited to see the person that changed because of me when I made the decision for you to be an empty nester.
Now to break out to all the readers and not just my mom.
I know the Lord is in you too because why else would you have gotten this far in this blog. He is so powerful. If he can bring a random kid from Lancaster, who has never heard of the world race, all the way to Cambodia, Honduras, Guatemala, and Ethiopia, what he is doing in you now or tomorrow or the day I can look into your eyes and tell you how amazing of an experience this God has given me.
Okay now don’t give up just yet because I’ve got one more thing. To get to this blog you had to get past the fundraising bar and its not yet full. It has to be filled by January 29th!!!!!!! SO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU ARE WILLING AND ABLE TO MAKE ANY KIND OF DONATION IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Okay maybe one more thing. I challenge all of you to repost this on your social media, send it to five friends, tell your grandma to read this, something anything. Please and thank you.
To my people back home, I miss you and you already know we hittin’ the Connestoga, going out to eat, and having some fun when I get back in a few months.
To all the family reading this, I thank you for raising me into who I am today and I can’t wait for the next reunion washers tournament.
To other fans that I don’t know who you are, comment me a way to contact you because if you’ve gotten this far then you either love me or love Jesus and I’d like to talk.
And to Mom, Dad, and Sean, I love and miss you guys everyday.
God Bless
