In 1 Corinthians 2:9, its says, “That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.'” I cant help but wonder what it is God has prepared for my team and myself as we go on those journey across the world. To experience the lost and dying world forehand? To see the dying and the hurting face to face? To see what these people live in? I can only imagine what we will come in contact with. But the wonderful thing to think about is what God will do through us all.
Leaving my family, leaving my friends, and leaving the comfort of my home and town is not something I look forward to. But it IS something I am willing to do. I know that God has something bigger planned for my life and the people I will come in contact with. I know that God has gone before me already and once I get there, He will not leave me (Deuteronomy 31:8). I have had many people ask me if I am scared of persecution when I get there. I have had people ask me if I am worried that I will not reach my financial goal. I have had people ask me if I am regretting my decision of going. They ask me if I know what I am getting myself into. I do not fear these questions. I am trusting Jesus. I know that God has a plan for all of this.
Recently, many people from my group that is going made a GroupMe chat. We have been spending days and days getting to know each other. One of the girls in the group offered to make a separate chat for the people that wanted to do a Bible Study together. We are going through the Gospels. It makes my heart happy to know and see that the people I am going on this journey with wants to make a difference in this world, and they are willing to prepare with the ones they will embark on it with before we even go to training camp. I have learned SO much from these guys and girls, it is unreal!
The answer to my question in the title is I do not know. I have no idea what I am getting myself into. But I know that God will prepare me, He will equip me with everything I need before I go out to bring light into this dark world. Will you all do something for me? Will you stop what you are doing and pray for my team and me? This journey will not be easy. This is not a luxury vacation. There will be many spiritual battles raging. There will be persecution thrown at us for our faith. There will be times where the only one we have to look to is Jesus. But we are all okay with that.
