Over a week ago, we arrived at Pop-Up ministries in South Africa. We are staying in dorms on a “Bible college” campus. Pop-Up Ministries has a lot to offer, but it primarily focuses on providing basic life skills courses to adult students. The amazing thing about these courses is that while being educated on life skills and the basic fundamentals of math and English, these students are being presented the Gospel in the classroom. Some of the students have never encountered God or been asked challenging questions that fuel personal spiritual evaluations. Pop-Up is passionate about educating people on Jesus and helping them find out their passions and calling in life. Our role in helping this ministry has looked different day to day. Sometimes, it looks like sitting in on class and helping facilitate group discussions. Some days ministry looks like gardening or helping Grace(the woman who cooks lunch for us) in the kitchen. On weekdays, we go out in the afternoons to evangelize and meet people in the community. Within the next week or so we will also begin volunteering at a children’s home. Needless to say, things are busy over here. God is moving in the conversations, in the classroom, even in gardening. I look forward to sharing some of the experiences I’ve had here and more of what God’s been teaching me. Thank you for your prayers. They’re powerful. Keep them coming. God bless you!
