Family and friends- greetings from Seronga, Botswana! A lot has taken place in the last couple weeks- 3 days of traveling from Haiti to Johannesburg, South Africa, LDW(Leadership Development Weekend) in Johannesburg, and then 34 hours of bus rides to our current homestead-Delta Cross Ministry in Seronga, Botswana.
Leadership Development Weekend was very restful and needed for me. The goal of it was to give us the space and time to rest and redirect our focus before heading into two months of ministry in Botswana.
We arrived here about a week ago, but it feels like just yesterday. I’m not quite sure what I was expecting Botswana to be like, but it’s beyond my wildest dreams. Our hosts are among the warmest, kindest, and most hospitable people I have ever met. Even on our first day here, I felt at home. Our host, Estel, makes sure there is always tea and coffee brewing on the stove and she is an amazing cook. We are here to serve their family and the community, but already, they have done so much for us and I feel blessed beyond words.
This week will consist of evangelism training, children’s ministry, and then going out into the village to share the Gospel.
Thank you for everyone back at home who has been praying for me. I am feeling not only cared for by God, but blessed beyond measure. I can already tell these two months will be restful for me and give me the space to grow with the Lord. I’m happy and I’m thriving and I’m very, very thankful to God.
