This first bit is just a side note:
I watched a documentary from a friends phone one of the days on the Camino in Spain.
It’s a great documentary to be challenged by.
The American Gospel is a 2 hour brief overview of the “health and prosperity teaching” that many big name preachers in America sell.
It was heavy for me, as I know I have myself believed and still in some ways wrestle with what the documentary seems to be against. If you are a Bible believing Christian, please check it out.
It’s definitely a film for discussion.
I have to say…..
GOD does love His children. HE is a good father.
But what about my dad who just got cancer?
What about Job? (Job 42:11)
& JESUS!
The fact for me is:
GOD does not owe me anything.
He has already given me sooo much and I have an opportunity to Rejoice in Him always.
When life is fairly good (like it has been for me this year, if I am honest) and when life circumstances are not good:
GOD is still holy, worthy and I believe His yolk is light because He has everything under Controlle.
I have experienced this year, more than any other How God’s word is true to the core, and how in Controlle He really is. It takes sooo much pressure and performance off!!
Tomorrow I have 923$ left to fund-raise to complete what I owe AIM. Essentially that money goes to our rent, our local hosts, our meal and transport budget for the last month of the trip.
I am totally prepared and fine to use the money in my account to donate that to my trip.
But before I do, I wanted to practice lowering my pride (and self sufficency) one last time and ask, would you partner and give?
It hasn’t gotten any easier to ask. But sometimes you never know, until you do.
Also I want to ASK if YOU have donated to me (or even if you havent) please send me a p.m. (personal message) of your prayer requests. I would love to partner with you and joyfully lift you up to the One who cares most.
Even if you are unsure in God or the God of the Bible… (which is actually almost half of the people who have financially supported me this far).
I would still love to pray to the God of the universe who loves and cares deeply.
I am blown away that in a little over a year’s time many generous and loving people have given me 17,777 dollars this far.
I cannot even express my gratitude and awe.
