One of our main ministry contacts for the month of Nepal was a family who hosted World Race teams in a village outside of Kathmandu.
Being in this village was a great escape from the capitol city “Dustmandu”. But also more of a physical challenge than the Treck we had recently completed a few days prior.
my new team Fellowship of the King (LOTR style)
The views were magnificent!!

Our hosts took us to a temple where we saw people bringing a chicken to sacrifice and bags of rice to appease a hindu god. We prayed there and along the way.
The steps to the temple were steep and many; the most stairs I have hiked at once. It was truly a feat to get there.

Another day we got to pray for a man in the village who went through extreme ridicule. He was slightly-off mentally and many people beat him up, he also had been in a 14yr battle with demon opression amongst many other things. Hearing his story was sad. But we heard later that he experienced a lot of releif and was at so much peace after we left. Praise God!!
We got to visit with other communituy memebers, speak and worship at 2 local churches.
It was so amazing to be a part of traditional Nepalies dance as they worshiped God.

(It is great to be a part of the different ways Gods children express love and worship to Him.)

In the evenings we ate food that our friends prepared for us.
We sat outside under a shed while we passed around the tradional Dal Bhat (click here). It consists of rice, Dal (lentl gravy liquid), prawn chips, papadam like chips, raw veggies and a vegetable curry of sorts. It was always slightly different.
Here is Tristan & Ari:::

We caught roaches under our plastic tea cups and watched moths burn their heads during dinner time^^
Here is where we went to the bathroom (watch out for the big flies and wasps buzzin near your butt):

Every night it rained… but one night the lightning got sooo loud and we got to feel a mini earthquake!!

On our last evening, many people we met came to where we were stayin to give us a warm goodbye around the fire. Here are some of the kids that did not want us to leave:

We left camp Nepali style, in the back of a truck…it was so thrilling bumping along the edges of cliffs while standing.

I am so privlaged and delighted to get to partner with some of the things God is doing. So many opportunities have been provided during this journey. Please pray that my team and I love eachother well and step further into the work asked of us.
