Hello yall!!
My Name is NORA COX!!!
I am an only child, born & raised in the south eastern United States (Virginia & South Carolina).
At age 22 I did some traveling (via bicycle a.k.a. cycle touring) and landed in Buffalo, NY. (I think it’s one of the best American cities, in addition to Pittsburgh and Detroit.) Yes, I enjoy winter, and snow; I have decided to think it’s fun.
I decided to follow Christ in 2015, for the first time with no turning back. It started off rough, but its been exploration, discovery, growth, deeper obedience and love ever since.
In 2016 I attended an amazing Christ centered college in Joplin, Missouri. That was a life changing experience. (Read my blog about why I went).
I found out about the World Race while attending that school in the Midwest. And in a missions class I was taking, God highlighted the 10/40 window to me.
In January 2018 I launched with the World Race Expedition Route. And by the end of my first mission trip, I knew it would not be my last trip with Christ and for Christ overseas.
I want to worship God forever and show & tell others of who He is. I want to understand His love for me more and live a life of greater risk.
It’s been a kinda slow process over the years, letting go of wrong idenity and stuff I held so dear. One of the many things the race was good for during that process was it helped accelerate that growth, obedience, and letting go of the life I knew and loved. It challenged my Pride and exposed so much. It put me in social situations I had never been in.
Some of my interests:
Cooking, Hiking, exploring/living outdoors, frugality/thriftiness, singing, playing uke, dancing, using my heands (sewing, building, repair, demolition, cutting hair), instrumental math-rock, old country, basement shows, junk-art, strategic board games, healthy life style, naturopathy and herbs, “conspiracy theories”, petting Dogs, fart jokes.
