We are officially home from the World Race
Before we left, I asked some of my squad mates what they learned about packing! Here’s the truth….
Now that you know what my squad learned about packing here are a few tips of my own that I’ve found very useful!
- Lay out all the items that you want to bring, then cut it in half, and then cut it in half again.
- You can buy everything anywhere around the world!
- Clothes are super cheap! If you shop the market and thrift stores!
- When on the field, if you buy something, get rid of something.
- Buy a shirt, get rid of a shirt
- Seriously, bring a suitcase. It is not mandatory to bring a backpack. Don’t bring a large one though (carry on size will do just fine)
- You may be teased a little bit by your squad but they will soon learn that it was a very smart idea!
- The more space you have in your bag, the more stuff you will fill it with. Buy a smaller backpack!
- **** YES you can buy tampons in other countries!! They are a little more expensive but you can find them in larger cities. I only packed 3 months worth and was fine!
- Or look into the Diva Cup. A lot of girls used it and they loved it.
- If Asia is on your route, you are in for a treat! So many things are cheap, especially medicine!
- When in doubt, throw it out. Don’t pack it!
- If you play guitar bring it! And your full size one too! You can have it as an extra carry on item. And many of your squad mates will want to play and learn too!
- If you are in a touristy area, you will find most American things, including stick deodorant and tampons! (and your favorite chocolate bar!)
Don’t believe me on some things you can buy overseas?! Don’t worry I filmed some clips for you of what you can find!
If you have any questions about packing, please ask!
