Somehow it seems like we just started this journey yet here we are 8-9 months in and at our third debrief. Baku is beautiful and I have enjoyed the European flair of the cobblestone sidewalks and stands up and down the street. Of course Baku is more touristy but you can learn a lot about a culture when you look at both the touristy section and then 10-15 minutes outside of the city for how the real locals live.

At this debrief, we got our final teams for the Race. Below is my team Almost Heaven because we believe the Kingdom of God is near and our initials almost spelled heaven. 🙂

HEAVMN

My heart has had a mixture of emotions this debrief. I am excited for what the Lord has for my team in the last three months of this race and my hope is for all of us to finish well and strong learning how to make this an everyday lifestyle instead of merely a trip we’ve been on this past year. I have seen so much growth in my squadmates this year and I praise G-d for the work He has done in all of us. My only hope is that when I leave this team, I leave them for the better. I can also say this of my squad. I realize I may not have always done or said the right thing. Often times I made mistakes BUT if they know at the end of the day I genuinely love them it’s ok for I have learned from those mistakes and will love them better the next time.

This debrief is about looking back at the last 8-9 months and seeing how much we have all grown while looking ahead to what the future holds as the race winds down, future plans are forged and G-d takes us to deeper levels of relationship with Him. I thank Him for the honor and privilege of being able to do life with my fellow brutes. They are a group of world changers who have such a heart for Jesus and I know each and everyone of them has touched my heart.
