Hey everyone!
I can tell you that our group has arrived safely in India! We have been greeted so very warmly by our host and it has been a blast going out to serve in some of the villages. The people are so kind and make sure we have what we need. As we have been going out each day, I have actually been reminded of similar days in another country ::shout out to PLUM:: where I learned how to simply love on people regardless of culture, living conditions, etc. There’s something special about a little one grabbing onto your pinky and walking with you as you travel throughout their home not wanting to leave your side.
Little girl would not let go of my pinky
Our whole squad is together for the first couple of weeks and it has been FUN being with everyone. It has also been a challenge but I can see where I am being grown in terms of community. We did receive the news that we will be having an extended version of gender month so we are staying in our groups from last month and will split up after AWAKENING which is a cool opportunity to have some cross squad community. Honestly, the news is bittersweet because it means our original groups won’t be coming back together given some of the shifting around of leadership at the end of this month. I know I am at peace with the decision and content in either team but it is a bummer because we all thought we would get more time with one another in that setting. One thing about this adventure for sure is you never really know what will happen!
Speaking of which, plans are so fluid it is kinda funny seeing how people react. We are told one thing and then it changes then changes again and no one is quite sure what is going on which makes for both some stressful and hilarious moments especially when you are having to come up with a game plan in the moment rather than in advance. Nothing that doing the hokey pokey on a moving bus can’t help fix 🙂
So far this country and experience has been what I needed and I can sense a turning around of some patterns which needed to change for me to move forward. Such beautiful people here who I am privileged to be able to meet and come alongside each day. Do know for their safety and ours, posts are limited. As we journey the next few months, it will become harder to deliver details of what occurs each day but it’s all good…so so GOOD!
FYI: I’m still raising support! I am currently $6300 from being full funded.
